Electrochemical Marking
Electrolytic etching produces a permanent image, with no distortion, on metal surfaces.

Electrolytic etching is recognized as one of the best methods of marking metal permanently without distortion. It is permanent because the mark is created by etching out metal and then plating on the etched surface a stable compound of the base metal.

In most cases the stable compound is an oxide, and the mark is, in effect, a stable rust which will withstand additional corrosive action. This corrosion resistance is demonstrated by the extreme length of time the Electromark will stand up in a salt spray test.

The mark is dark in color with the degree of darkness depends on many factors. For example, some stainless steels yield only a brown mark, while many metals yields a jet black mark.

To meet the varying needs of our valued customers, North American Laser offers three electrolytic etching models: CAN-ETCH 100, CAN-ETCH 200 AND CAN-ETCH 300.

  • Designed for Light run industrial use
  • Features both AC and DC current modes
  • Surface and deep etching with the following variable settings. Power Intensity, AC or DC output.
  • Power indicator light


CAN-ETCH 200 – Entry Level

  • Can-etch 200 electrolytic etching
    CAN-ETCH 200
    Designed for Medium run industrial use
  • Features both AC and DC current modes
  • Surface and deep etching with the following variable settings. Power/Mark Time/Pulse Option/Constant or Variable Power/Optional Foot Pedal Operation
  • Power indicator light
  • Mark in process light to indicate when the unit is marking

 

Can-etch 300 electrolytic etching

CAN-ETCH 300

  • High-power unit designed for high volume users who require very deep etching and or an automated system
  • All the features of the 200 series unit but with more power
  • Able to control an pneumatic automated system
  • Includes marking arm, automatic electrolyte feed system and a pneumatic control for high production levels.
